Communicate Stage 2
Whether you’re using words, body language or emojis - get your message across.
The Communicate skills builder will help you really express yourself, whether you prefer to talk, sign or text. Stage 2 is recommended for Rainbows and Brownie.
Here's a taste of the activities you can look forward to trying at this stage. Ask your leader about all the things you'll need to do to earn this badge.
Act it out - Who needs words? In this activity, try telling a story without them. Use hand gestures and facial expressions instead.
Don't ask, don't discover! - How good a detective are you? Use your investigative skills to uncover information, before getting messy and creative as you show what you’ve discovered to your group.
It's not what you say… - It’s not what you say, but how you say it! Your tone of voice can tell people every bit as much as your words – and help them stay interested in your thoughts and ideas. Take a look at this activity for a sneak peek at our Communicate skills builder.
Picture perfect - We all think and learn in different ways. Some people prefer reading or listening, while others like to learn using pictures. Get creative and draw some pictures to communicate with your unit.
Can you hear me at the back? - Make sure everyone can hear you when you speak. Practise controlling your breath and posture, so you can project your voice and fill the room with sound.
