How to use the learning platform
You can use the platform to track your learning and see what training is available
We launched our new learning platform in early 2022.
You can use the platform to track your learning and see what training is available, all in one space.
What does the platform do?
This platform will keep growing and become a one-stop shop for all your Girlguiding training. But we’ve started small, with just some of our learning options, so we can hear what you think and make sure we’re creating the right content and tools for you.
Once you've set up your account, you’ll be able to find:
- All the Girlguiding e-learning
- All the webinars organised by HQ
You won’t need to search GO or our website for these anymore – they'll all be listed in the course catalogue. You can enrol in webinars and complete e-learning all from within the platform.
And if you’re a trainer yourself, you’ll now be able to find all the resources for your sessions in the trainer resource area of the platform.
On your learning dashboard, you’ll be able to see the learning you’ve done and the courses that you need to renew. Best of all - when you complete a course, it will automatically be recorded on GO as well. So, you can be confident that all your information is up-to-date across the different systems. The platform and GO sync every 24 hours so you’ll need to wait to see any updates or changes across the two systems.
We think you’ll find the platform intuitive and easy to use. We’ve got an FAQ and help videos once you log into the platform to show you how to do the key things you’ll need.
How to log in to the platform
All Girlguiding members and enquirers aged 14 and over will automatically have a learning platform account created from their GO account. All your learning is saved on the platform and it connects directly with GO to keep things simple. You’ll need to set up a password when you log into the learning platform. You can do this in a few short steps:
- Head to the platform login page.
- Your username will be the same as GO.
- Click on ‘Forgotten your password?’ to get a link to set up your password.
- Use your new password and GO username to log in.
You can also watch this video on how to set your password and log into the learning platform for the first time.
You may not receive the password reset email if certain spam filters are turned on. To make sure you receive them, please add [email protected] to your trusted senders list.
You’ll be invited to set up a GO account as soon as you’ve registered.
To activate it, use the email address you registered with and the 'Invitation code' will be in your email. You can also request a code by clicking on the 'I don’t have a login' invitation code link on GO’s homepage.
Once you’ve set this up, you’ll need to wait 24 hours, and then you’ll be able to access the learning platform and do your A Safe Space training and any other courses you might be interested in. You can do this straight away they don’t need to wait for their DBS to be processed.
If you are an enquirer or have not yet setup your GO account, you can also watch this video for a step-by-step guide on how to activate your GO account and sign into the learning platform for the first time.
When registering on the learning platform, please click on 'first time here or forgotten password' and ask for a reset by putting in either your GO username or the email address that’s on GO. Follow the instructions in the email and create your password. Make sure you check your spam and junk folders in case the reset ends up in there.
Young leaders, young external volunteers and other young members can access the platform to do their a safe space training too. They’ll need to log in to their GO account and add an email address. Their leader or commissioner can check this. It’ll take 24 hours for this to be updated on the platform then they’ll be able to login.
What can I expect in the future?
We’ll be adding all local training sessions to the platform and you’ll be able to find and book a place on in-person sessions and webinars near you.
More courses will be moved onto the platform as well. 1st Response training, the Leadership qualification, the Trainer qualification, Going Away With and all outdoors schemes will all eventually be able to be found, completed and recorded there.
For now, you can continue to book any local sessions the way you normally would through your local training teams and country or region offices. GO will continue to be used to record our qualifications, local sessions and first aid training.
Tell us what you think
This is all brand new for Girlguiding, so we’re doing things gradually – launching a first version now and then adding more through the year. This is important because we want to listen to your feedback and test out what works, so that together we can build something that works brilliantly.
If you want to let us know your experience of the new platform and how you’re finding it, look out for the feedback form once you’ve logged in.
If you’re having technical problems, can’t get the platform to work or just can’t log in, contact [email protected] for help.
