Remote international experiences
Taking part in international adventures is one of the most exciting things about being in Girlguiding
With lots of online and remote activities on offer, you can take part in international experiences without ever leaving your home country.
Being part of WAGGGS means that we’re connected to a global sisterhood of ten million members across 150 countries.
Our online international offer provides a space for young and adult members to connect with others in the guiding community overseas. You’ll have the chance to develop a deeper sense of cultural awareness and respect for others through adventures at your unit meeting, regional or national events.
Unit level opportunities
Pen pals via email or post
Becoming international pen pals with someone through guiding can be a great way to make new friends and learn about another culture. You can find our guidance on making international pen pals on our webpage.
Online unit meetings or video calls
Getting online can be a fantastic way to connect with other WAGGGS members across the world. Why not host an online unit meeting and invite an international group to join you? Or you can join a unit meeting hosted by a Girl Guide or Girl Scouts group in another country.
World Centre's virtual programme
Lots of units take part in online workshops and sessions hosted by the WAGGGS World Centres. These online programmes are available for all ages (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult) and each workshop is themed around global adventures, cultural discoveries, world centre explorations or international connections.
You can book a group session, book as an individual adult, or interact via a Facebook live event.
Virtual sightseeing tours
Sightseeing can take place from the comfort of your unit meeting. Explore places near and far through a virtual walking tour of cities or cultural sights and museums.
