From codebreaking to camping, sports to storytelling, Girlguiding is where her confidence grows.
Whether it's Rainbows (4-7 years), Brownies (7-10 years), Guides (10-14 years) or Rangers (14-18 years), start your daughter's Girlguiding journey here. And get ready for stories she can't wait to tell you.
Girls in guiding are up to 30% more confident than the UK on average, and 3 times more likely to have done something good for their local community or environment.
Enter a few quick details and choose a local group near you based on when and where they meet.
How does registration work?
- Register your interest. We'll ask for your contact details and a few key pieces of information about your child.
- Choose the best Girlguiding group for you. You'll see a map of local Girlguiding groups - or 'units' - near you. You can choose up to 3.
- We'll get in touch. Someone from your chosen unit (local Girlguiding group) will contact you. They'll aim to get back to you within 3 weeks. They will explain to you about meetings times, costs, what's planned for the term and if there's a waiting list.
- Try guiding out. If spaces are available, the unit will arrange a trial meeting for your child to attend. This gives you both an idea of what guiding is all about – we're sure you'll love it!
Why join Girlguiding?
- We're an affordable activity club for girls.
- We’ve got an action-packed programme that is girl-led with something for every girl.
- We offer a space for her to be herself, grow her confidence and find somewhere she belongs.
- Girls can take part in all levels of adventure from high adrenaline to gentler experiences. It could be a bug hunt in the garden or the chance to go abseiling.

Questions you might have
At Girlguiding, we want everyone to feel welcome and have an equal sense of belonging.
We want to see an equal world where all girls feel happy, safe and can enjoy fulfilling lives. So, we encourage them to think big and be bold – each in her own way. We help her know she can do anything.
We value and celebrate the different experiences of our members.
The cost of our membership fees (‘subs’) will vary from area to area, but for most this works out to a few pounds a week. This is dependent on everything from the unit’s activities to the cost of hiring a meeting place. Register your details, find your local unit and speak to your local volunteer team about costs in your area.
Our uniform, available to buy on our online shop, is shaped by girls to reflect how they want to feel – comfortable and confident. It gives girls a sense of belonging and sisterhood along with the flexibility to style and wear it their way, with their own clothes.
We’ve worked hard to make it affordable – although you’ll find a vast range of items for each age group on our webshop, all girls need to be in uniform is a top. And, although we’re a uniformed organisation, it’s not mandatory for members to buy uniform. Most members choose to wear it, but your local volunteer can work with you to make sure that you have access to an option that works for you.
Thank you for your patience. Local Girlguiding groups are run by volunteers who are very busy so sometimes things can take a little longer. Someone will aim to be in touch with you in 3-4 weeks. If it's been longer than that, you can contact [email protected] to check the status of your registration.
