World Thinking Day 2025: Our Story

Every year on 22 February, we celebrate World Thinking Day. 

We’re part of a bigger movement - the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) - and World Thinking Day is a chance for us to connect with 10 million Girl Guides and Scouts across the globe. And to shout about the amazing things we do.

World Thinking Day has a different theme every year for all the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world to celebrate together. The theme for 2025 is Our Story.  

So, this year’s World Thinking Day is the first part of a 4-year journey for members to reflect on the past, present and future of our global movement. This year’s theme digs into the values of what it's meant to be a Girl Guide or Girl Scout over the past century. There are lots of games and activities to engage girls with Our Story in the WAGGGS activity pack, as well as useful guidance notes for leaders. 

Get involved

  • Download WAGGGS’ activity pack (PDF, 11,870kB) to do with your unit.
  • Tell your girls, volunteer teams and parents about World Thinking Day and what it means to us, so that they’re excited about it!
  • Share your stories on social media using #WTD2025.
  • Think about how you can help your units to celebrate - maybe you could challenge them to plan a unit meeting and see what the results are.
