Calling all parents and carers: take part in the Big Help Out 2024!
Here’s how to get involved on 7-9 June 2024
We’re taking part in the Big Help Out which is a whole weekend dedicated to volunteering.
The volunteers who run your local Girlguiding units help all girls know they can do anything. They make the magic of Girlguiding happen for your child!
What’s the Big Help Out?
The Big Help Out is an initiative hosted by the Together Coalition to help raise awareness about volunteering in the UK.
Girlguiding is an official partner of the Big Help Out. This year, we’re encouraging parents and carers like you to get involved in Girlguiding in some way. That could mean helping to run an event, attending a unit meeting open day or supporting your local volunteers in whatever way is helpful to them!
The Big Help out is also the same week as Volunteers’ Week so it’s a great time to say thank you to the Girlguiding volunteers in your area by lending a hand.

- It’s a chance for you to support the volunteers who run your child’s local Girlguiding unit and see what guiding all is about.

It's completely flexible
The great thing about getting involved in the Big Help Out is you can get a taste of what it’s like to volunteer with Girlguiding, without committing to anything long term.
You might volunteer for just an hour, 1 day or the whole weekend! For more information about how much time to give, you’ll need to find the right opportunity on the Big Help Out app. After that, you can chat to the organiser of the Big Help Out event.
