Adventures and activities

Each week we're releasing activities from our programme so you can bring the adventure home

Lots of us are staying home at the moment, but that doesn't mean we can't try new things, challenge ourselves or get creative.

We've pulled our favourite indoor activities from the unit meeting activities and skills builder activitiess that make up the Girlguiding programme. Each week we'll be releasing eight new activity cards – two per age group or guiding section – that you can download and use at home.

You don't need to be a member of Girlguiding to give them a try – they're here so all young people can have a bit of adventure at this tough time.

But if you are a member, or your daughter is working on her awards in her unit meetings, you'll be happy to hear that these activities do count towards programme theme awards hours. Just make a note of which activities you try, and your unit leader can record them for you.

Leaders and volunteers – these activities are great to try if you're exploring online guiding whilst unit meetings are closed. Check our guidance for safe online guiding.

Girls in guiding – grab your badge and award books!

They're full of fun interest badges to choose from, all designed to be done at away from the unit meeting. It's a great way to give girls the space to develop their independence and self-confidence while having fun and trying something new.

Lots of badges can be done in a few hours or over a weekend. They’re as time-intensive as a girl chooses to make them.
If you're eager, why not re-do your favourite interest badge in a different way? For example, if you did your Brownie Performing interest badge – choose a different performing art and complete the badge again.
