Age restrictions for young members of Girlguiding and support for volunteers of all ages
Youth membership of Girlguiding is open to all girls and young women aged from 4 to 25, regardless of any protected characteristics.
The reason for these age restrictions is due to our programme offer which is delivered through age-specific sections. This ensures our programme is relevant to the learning and development stages of girls and young women within each section.
Volunteers should not be overlooked, based on age, for a role for which they have the correct skills and aptitudes required to undertake the role. Further information can be found in our membership policy and volunteer recruitment and vetting policy.
