Inspirational Girlguiding volunteers and members attend Girlguiding Celebrates

28 November 2023

Hundreds of Girlguiding volunteers and members joined former Brownie, Harpz Kaur and Girlguiding ambassador Anna McNuff on the red carpet this weekend at the charity’s celebration event in London’s iconic West End.

The event honoured Girlguiding’s young members and exceptional volunteers from across the UK. These included recipients of the highest and most prestigious awards available in guiding, including the Queen’s Guide award, Silver Fish, Laurel Award and Guiding Stars, alongside volunteers nominated in recognition for their dedication and commitment.

Hosted by broadcaster and DJ,  Harpz Kaur, the event saw attendees enjoy a fun packed event with acrobat, dance and choir performances in a special variety show, alongside messages of congratulations from Paralympians Ellen Buttrick MBE and Hannah Cockcroft OBE.

Harpz Kaur said: “Hosting Girlguiding Celebrates was so exciting. As a former Brownie, I know the amazing experiences girls get to have in guiding, as well as the life-long skills you learn along the way. To be able to recognise the charity’s award-winning volunteers and members at this special event was inspiring, they are the ones that make Girlguiding happen and empower all girls to know they can do anything."

The Girlguiding Celebrates event held on Saturday 25 November at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, was also attended by  Chief Guide, Tracy Foster, Deputy Chief Guide Sally Kettle and Assistant Chief Guide Mhairi Mackay.
