About the role

The lead volunteer for inclusion will work in partnership with staff and volunteers to help make sure Girlguiding is a place where everyone is welcome and free to be themselves.

What will I be doing?

As part of this role, you’ll promote equity, diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation by working closely with both HQ staff and countries and regions. You’ll co-facilitate the Girlguiding inclusion network and support delivery of Girlguiding’s equity, diversity and inclusion strategic plan.

This role will make sure Girlguiding is proactively reaching young members and volunteers from underrepresented groups. And that volunteers feel equipped, empowered and confident to make sure everyone is supported and included through our guidance, resources and communication.

You’ll also support and line manage the inclusion specialist volunteers. The role will include occasional project work.

Our previous lead volunteer for inclusion:

  • Supported with our diversity and inclusion audit, which helped to form the equity, diversity and inclusion strategic plan.
  • Supported with the writing of the equity, diversity and inclusion strategic plan.
  • Co-wrote the volunteer inclusion e-learning.
  • Worked on inclusion unit meeting activities (UMAs).

The role is for 3 years, with the possible extension of up to 2 additional years.
