I make an impact through fundraising and volunteering
Tia, 15, member of Rangers, enjoys fundraising and volunteering as a Young Leader at a Brownie unit
As a Young Leader at Brownies, it’s very inspiring to know that you’re impacting on someone’s life in a positive way.
Sometimes we do fundraising, like at the Village Community Day. Here you get to know lots of people who you wouldn’t usually talk to, such as older people. When they contribute towards fundraising, it’s nice to talk to them and get to know how they are. It’s just nice to brighten their day.
Working with Brownies is inspiring
As a Young Leader at Brownies, I help a lot with the younger children, seeing how they think and progress. It’s very inspiring to know that you’re impacting on someone’s life in a positive way. We do friendship activities and the togetherness and happiness that they show to each other is very rewarding.
Guiding has changed me
I think guiding’s definitely changed me. When I was younger, I was very quiet and not very confident and didn’t really have very many friends. Guides definitely helps you to develop as a person.
