Pat on the back
This lovely game encourages girls to focus on the best in themselves and others.
- Each girl draws around her hand on a paper plate. The plate is then taped to her back.
- Everyone in the group writes a positive comment about the person on her plate. The comments do not have to be signed. Try to get the girls to think about more than just what other people look like. (For Rainbows, you could pre-prepare comments and write them on sticky notes which girls can stick to the plates.)
- Once everyone is finished, girls remove the plates from their backs and read the comments that have been made about them. Ask if anyone would like to share what's on hers.
Promise activities may encourage girls to talk about their own backgrounds and belief systems. Read our guidance on including all girls.
