Hints and tips for using the unit meeting recording tool

A ‘how to’ guide to help you use the unit meeting recording tool

Thank you for being one of the first to pilot the unit meeting recording tool.

The tool is intuitive and easy to use, but to help you use it, leaders who have been a part of earlier pilots share their hints and tips.

  • Save the link to the unit meeting recording tool on whatever device you’re using in the unit meeting, for example, smartphone, tablet or laptop. You can add it as a favourite in your browser.
  • Make sure you remember to connect to the Wi-Fi in the unit meeting place if you have it.
  • Internet goes down? Don’t worry – you can complete the meeting when you get home.
  • Don’t forget the username and password to login is exactly the same as the one you use for GO.
  • Once you’ve logged into the unit meeting recording tool, you’ll be setting up a meeting, recording the activities you’re doing in the meeting and marking girls’ attendance at the meeting.
  • Stuck for a unit meeting name? You can call it what you like, for example, regular unit meeting, chip hike, first aid or pond dipping.
  • Skills builders and unit meeting activities will be recorded on GO at the same time, so you don’t need to update GO.
  • If you’re doing activities which aren’t skills builders or unit meeting activities, these won’t be recorded on GO.
  • If you’re creating a unit meeting in advance, it’ll appear in the ‘upcoming meetings’ section. You won’t be able to record attendance until an hour before the actual meeting takes place, according to the time you’ve set.
  • Before you ‘complete’ the meeting, check that everything is correct. Once you’ve clicked the ‘complete’ button you won’t be able to edit the meeting.
  • You don’t have to sign girls out at the end of the meeting, this is optional. This will happen automatically when you’ve completed it.

Your checklist for completing meetings

  • Are all the girls who attended the meeting showing as ‘in attendance’?
  • Have the right skills builders and unit meeting activities been recorded for the right girl?
  • Is the meeting time correct?
  • If you answer ‘yes’ to all of these, you can complete the meeting.
