Opportunities for parents
There are loads of ways parents and carers can get involved in Girlguiding
You can get involved in a way that works around the time you’re able to give.
As a parent you have a unique insight into what girls need to grow and thrive - both now and in the future. And you have all sorts of skills to contribute - from your experiences as a parent, at work, or from any hobbies or interests you have.
Flexible volunteering
Get involved in a way that fits around your existing commitments. Inspiring girls and giving them great experiences doesn’t have to be a full-time role. You could do anything from becoming a leader to helping on a parent rota or with admin tasks.
There are plenty of opportunities at district, division and county level too. Find out about all the different roles we have available in guiding or watch our video on how to get involved when you don’t have much time to spare.
You could also talk to your employer about employer-supported volunteering – many companies will have schemed in place to encourage volunteering locally.

Other ways to get involved
Looking for different ways to show your support? As a parent, there are a whole range of opportunities for you to have fun, get involved and make a difference.
- Fundraise for us - whether you want to go on an international adventure or get fit, taking part in a charity challenge for Girlguiding is an exciting way to support our work.
- Join our insight and innovation pool to have your say on what we do in guiding and help us shape things like new badges and products.
Keep your eyes peeled on our events and opportunities pages to see what else comes up.
