Sparkle and Ice

Take on survival challenges in winter weather

Brave the elements at our extreme winter camp

Sparkle and Ice is our extreme winter camp for Guides and members of Rangers and The Senior Section. Test your camping skills in near freezing temperatures, then warm up with marshmallow-toasting, abseiling, assault courses and more.

The rock climbing has been the best bit. It’s really high and fun and I got to the top - Olivia, 13, Otford Guides

When: Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 February 2019 (with optional Friday night stay).

Where: Blackland Farm in Sussex, Foxlease in Hampshire and Waddow Hall in Lancashire.

How much: £58.50 per person - £15 extra for Friday night.

What’s happening?

At Sparkle and Ice, Guides, Rangers, members of The Senior Section - and their leaders -  will be immersed in our very own winter wonderland.

Alongside a programme of adventurous activities – including rock climbing, abseiling and tunnelling – girls will learn vital survival skills to help them take on extreme weather conditions. They’ll also have a chance to:

  • Get crafty with winter-themed make-and-dos
  • Pit themselves against our assault course
  • Keep their balance on our crate stacking challenge

Keen campers can arrive on Friday night to get ahead of the crowds, while others can join us for a 9am start on Saturday morning.

This event requires no Going Away With Licence – so you can focus on spending time with your girls and getting stuck into the activities.

How much does it cost?

£58.50 per person for the event, with £15 for the additional Friday night.

Event ticket includes:

  • Campsite fee - you'll need to bring your own tents
  • Food from Saturday lunch to Sunday lunch
  • Hot drinks
  • Onsite activities and challenges

Optional Friday night ticket includes dinner, camping fees and breakfast.
