Quiz: What type of engineer might you be?

Take the quiz to find out which area of engineering you match with

We’ve teamed up with Google to help inspire the next generation of leaders in tech and engineering.

We know that nearly 30% of girls and young women would like to develop skills and learn more about tech.

That’s why together with Google, we’re supporting girls to break down barriers in technology. And supporting them with activities that grow their skills and confidence to thrive in the digital world safely.

In fact, since our partnership started in 2018, hundreds of girls have attended a Google event where they’ve interacted directly with women in engineering. And after taking part in these activities in 2025, there was a 59% increase in girls reporting they strongly agreed they could think like a programmer and 48% increase in girls thinking they’re good at problem-solving.

This is what Nahmarine, a Brownie from London and South East region, told us about her experience at a Google event:

I want to be an aerospace engineer, to fix robots and make things. It will be so much fun because engineering is fun!’

Take the quiz

Take our quiz developed with our friends at Google to find out what type of engineering may suit your style of problem-solving.

Remember: no matter your answers, engineering is all about being curious, creative and wanting to make the world a better place. So keep exploring, building and asking questions. Because you have the potential to be an amazing engineer!

Activities for girls to explore tech

Together with Google we've created the digital discovery series of activities. They give girls from all sections the opportunity to learn new skills. Whether they’re exploring tech through coding, debugging and finding out how chatbots and algorithms work, or learning how to be safer online. With our newest set of unit meeting activities, girls can learn all about cybersecurity.

Why not give these a try with your unit and earn 1 of the 4 fun badges available, to celebrate taking part in any of our amazing opportunities or activities with Google?

If you're a Ranger, did you know that Google has also helped us develop our digital design interest badge activity too?
