Highlights from Girlguiding Celebrates

A look-back at the best bits from our celebration of members

24 June 2026

On Saturday 6 June, 800 Girlguiding members and volunteers came together to celebrate achievements in guiding.

Attendees travelled from across the UK and beyond for a special afternoon at the end of Volunteers' Week to celebrate the incredible contributions in guiding from members at all levels and recognise those who've recieved a special award.

We celebrated Laurel, Silver Fish and Guiding Star award recipients, peer educators with a gold pin badge and 303 volunteers who were nominated locally by members of their community to attend, in recognition of how they go above and beyond in guiding.

We also welcomed 91 Queen’s Guides, and for the first time, the chief guide team hosted a special reception after the main event to share congratulations and recognise the accomplishments of those who've achieved the highest award in guiding

If you attended Girlguiding Celebrates, we hope you had an incredible afternoon. Check out our favourite moments from the day.

A welcome in lights

It was incredible to be in the centre of London at Leicester Square amidst all the glitz and glamour of the West End. The names of nominees and award recipients were blown up on the big screen and it was so special to see everyone spotting and taking photos of their name.

Red carpet memories

Walking the red carpet and capturing lasting memories to take home is always a highlight! We had two red carpet opportunities with lights, props and a professional photographer and it was fabulous to see everyone getting stuck in on the action.

The main event

There was non-stop fun from our hosts, the chief guide team and CEO Felicity, who were joined onstage by the Southend Gang show and an amazing brass band. Plus, we shared some special messages from ambassadors Anna McNuff and Laura Anderson sending their congratulations

Extra goodies

It wouldn’t be a VIP event without a giveaway, every award holder or nominee received the brand-new national necker, modelled below by the chief guide teamPlus, everyone went home with badges and photos.

Thank you for joining us at Girlguiding Celebrates

We hope you felt special and connected with peers in guiding. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to girls. Keep an eye out for when nominations open again for Girlguiding Celebrates next year!
