Staying safe
- Check your ingredients to make sure you, and other people eating, are not allergic to them.
- Follow good hygiene rules - tie long hair back and wash your hands before you start.
- You should have adult supervision when using knives and using hot stoves or ovens when cooking.
- Remember to use oven gloves for hot items and check cooking appliances are turned off when you’ve finished.
- Always direct knives away from your body and use a chopping board when cutting. Always firmly hold what you’re cutting and keep your fingers away from the blade. And never try to catch a falling knife.
