Give girls unforgettable experiences by remembering Girlguiding in your will

A gift in your will to Girlguiding can help give girls a brighter future

If you are one of the millions of women who used to be in Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers or The Senior Section, you will appreciate the impact guiding can have on a young girl’s life. Chances to grow and develop, new friendships and new challenges - this is what guiding is all about.

After looking after family and friends, please consider remembering Girlguiding in your will; you can help secure these opportunities for generations of girls to come.

Making your will

Making a will is a simple process. You should visit a solicitor to have your will drawn up. To find a solicitor near you, contact The Law Society on 020 7242 1222 or visit their website

How your gift can make a difference

If you've ever been involved in guiding, you'll know that the memories you make stay with you for life. The experiences girls have in guiding help to make them who they are and give them the power to influence the world.

A gift in your will enables us to continue providing girls with opportunities and important skills that will guide them through the rest of their lives - friendship, teamwork, confidence and resilience.

Gifts in wills can be used to support various areas of our work and projects including:

  • Start-up costs to get new guiding units up and running
  • Camping equipment to allow girls to have adventures
  • Training for new leaders
  • Support for our team of peer educators

Types of gifts

There are different types of gifts that you can leave in your will. These are the most common.

A residuary gift

This is a way of passing on what remains of your estates once your loved ones have been provided for. You can leave the residue, or a share of it, to Girlguiding - as little as 1% can make a huge difference to girls in guiding.

A pecuniary gift

This is a set amount of money you can specify in your will.
