How Girlguiding gives girls new skills

Sometimes, it can feel like screen time is taking over.

We know how hard it is to get kids away from phones and tablets. Girlguiding is the perfect way to get your child stuck into something hands-on, adventurous, and exciting.

Hands-on fun every week  

Our sessions are all about getting stuck in and giving things a go! Our friendly volunteers lead the way, helping the girls get involved. Your child will have the chance to try all sorts of new things that she might not get to do anywhere else and earn badges along the way! Here’s some examples of things girls do every week:

• Build and fix: she might learn how to use tools for a DIY project or build a campfire.
• Manage money: she’ll learn how to plan a budget for a fun trip or a party.
• Take the lead: she’ll have turns leading her friends through games and challenges. 

Skills she’ll use for the rest of her life

Every time she tries something new, her confidence will grow. She’ll learn how to solve problems on her own and how to work well in a team. These are important skills that will stay with her as she grows up. They’ll help give her the tools she needs to handle whatever the future holds. 

She’ll come home with a big smile and great stories to tell about what she achieved that day. We want to show her that she can do anything she sets her mind to. It's all about giving her the chance to be brave, stay curious, and feel proud of herself.
