3 flexible ways to help out in your local area
How you can get involved with volunteering in a way that works for you
Between work, family, and everything else, it's hard to find extra time.
You might think you can’t help out because you’re not free every week. But don’t worry, we’re flexible.
You don’t have to come every Tuesday to make a big difference. Whether you’ve got 2 hours a week or 2 hours a month, we’d love your help. Here are 3 ways you can help in your local community:
1. Help out from home
Do you like to stay organised? Or do you enjoy chatting on social media? You can help us without even leaving your sofa!
What you’ll do: you can help with finances, answer quick emails, or post about us on social media.
Why it’s flexible: you can do this from home whenever you’ve got a spare moment. It’s perfect if you want to help but can’t make it to a weekly meeting.
2. Join the action as a leader
If you love being where the action is, this is for you! You'll help girls try new things and grow their confidence.
What you’ll do: you’ll work with a friendly local team to plan fun trips, play games, and help girls earn badges.
Why it’s flexible: lots of our leaders share the role. You can take turns with a partner to run the meetings. This helps it fit around your busy life.
3. Lend a hand as a unit helper
Want to see what we do without taking on a big role? Being a helper is a great way to start.
What you’ll do: you’ll join us at meetings to help with crafts, play games, or go on local walks.
Why it’s flexible: you don’t have to be there every week. Maybe you can help once a fortnight or once a month? Any time you give helps our girls so much.
You don’t need to be an expert
You don't need any special skills to help out. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.
Whether you’re great at tasks or just great with people, you’ll fit right in. Even an hour or 2 helps local girls grow and succeed.
