10 activities you might find at Cityscapes Adventure

Cityscapes is coming to 5 cities on the 21 or 22 March 2026

17 November 2025

We’re bringing an action-packed wide game to Glasgow, Cardiff, Portsmouth, York and Manchester.

And you’re invited to explore the city like never before.

If you’ve ever loved the buzz of a Monopoly Run, you’ll be right at home. A wide game is a fast-paced, outdoor challenge where teamwork, strategy and communication are everything - and Cityscapes Adventure takes it to the next level. This time the game is a city-wide scavenger hunt. Each city offers its own mix of activities. There's 5 themes for the activities: sports, crafts, science, strong women and fun.

Tickets are on sale until 19 January 2026. Don't miss out!

Here’s 10 activities you might be doing at Cityscapes next year:

  1. Emergency services: Cardiff’s calling! The fire service and police are in town and ready to put you through your paces.
  2. Science zone: Science fans, get ready! Glasgow Science Centre’s brilliant roadshow team plan to be out and about, and the amazing Stemettes should be showing off their STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) magic in Portsmouth. Over in York, there’ll be some bridge-building and rail-related challenges from the Institute of Civil Engineers.
  3. Archery and axes: Portsmouth is bringing the energy with soft archery, soft axe throwing and even a laser maze. Time to aim, throw and dive!
  4. Museums tour: In Glasgow, you’ll be popping by the Riverside Museum, Kelvingrove, the Gallery of Modern Art and the Hunterian as you make your way around the city. Portsmouth is joining in too with the D-Day Museum on board and a visit to HMS Victory too.
  5. Creative crafts: Manchester is ready to spark your creativity with a doodle wall and pebble painting. In York, you’ll be diving into the Viking history to make a shield. All the cities are planning to have origami, with some brilliant paper-folding challenges.
  6. Music and dance: Cardiff will have you drumming up a storm, while Manchester and York turn up the volume in a silent disco – get practicing those dance moves!
  7. Suffragettes: Glasgow’s bringing the Protests and Suffragettes to life and celebrating incredible women from history. Manchester’s joining in with suffragette dressing-up and you might even ‘spot’ Emmeline Pankhurst on your travels!
  8. Sports: In Cardiff, you’ll be stepping up to the crease for some cricket fun — grab a bat, take your best swing and see how many runs you can score! Over in Manchester and York, you can give rugby a try and see how far you can run, kick and score, while Portsmouth gets you moving with dodgeball and rugby, so get ready to dodge, duck and throw!
  9. Ambassadors: Look out for some inspiring local ambassadors. York’s sports ambassador will be dropping by, and in Manchester you can meet Dr Megan Argo — astronomer and Girlguiding North West England ambassador.

When's Cityscapes happening?

It runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 21 or Sunday 22 March 2026. Both days are the same, so you can just pick 1 to attend. It costs £10 per person, including a special event badge.

Who can take part?

The best bit is that Cityscapes is open to all Girlguiding and Trefoil members. You can come as a team of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, young leaders or adults. You can come as a unit, district, county or friendship group. Just make sure you’re following our ratios for any young members taking part.

How will the activities be run?

Using an app called Goosechase, you’ll go (or race!) around key spots in the city, completing fun missions, trying new things, and spotting loads of other Girlguiding groups on the same adventure. Some activities will be led by volunteers, others you complete by yourselves.

For each activity or challenge you complete, you can collect points. You can do as many activities or challenges as you like, so you don't need to do them all.

Your team can track your progress in the app and try to climb to the top of leaderboard. Your welcome to join in the friendly competition - or you can take part join just for the fun!

Most challenges will be outdoors, but you might dip into places (like museums or our friends at GO Outdoors) for extra tasks. Plus, there might even be some bonus missions - like snapping the perfect photo of something you spot along the way.
