Learning platform terms and conditions

Terms and conditions for using our learning platform.

We are The Guide Association (known as Girlguiding, and also in these Terms we, us and our), a registered charity incorporated by Royal Charter, with charity no. 306016 (in England) and our principal address is: 17-19 Buckingham Palace Road, London, SW1W 0PT.

These terms and conditions apply to the Girlguiding Learning Platform, which enables you to undertake e-learning courses, sign-up to webinars and to check your learning records.

These terms and conditions, together with the website terms and conditions, our privacy policy and cookies policy (together “the Terms”) govern your use of the Learning Platform.

By using the Learning Platform you (in these Terms, you, your) agree to the Terms.  Please read these Terms carefully.

Access to GO (our membership platform) is subject to additional terms and conditions, which can be found on GO.

1. Accessing the Platform

The Learning Platform can be accessed through the Login Page, or via GO.

Your login details are the same as your GO login details. You should keep your login details secure and not disclose them to anyone else.

Please note that we have the right to disable any log-in or password at any time if, in our reasonable opinion, you have failed to comply with any of our Terms.

2. Using the Platform

You should complete the relevant e-learning and training modules as an when requested to do so by Girlguiding within the requisite timeframes.

You may only use the Learning Platform in accordance with these Terms and for lawful and proper purposes.

We may suspend, block or end your access to the Learning Platform if you do not comply with the Terms (including but not limited to the Responsible Use Policy as outlined in our website terms and conditions).

We do not guarantee that the Learning Platform, or any content contained on the Learning Platform, will always be available. We may suspend, withdraw, change or discontinue any part of the Learning Platform for business and operational reasons without notice.

The downloading or other use of the material on the Learning Platform is done at your own discretion and risk, and with your agreement that you will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system, loss of data or other harm that may result from such activities. Girlguiding will not be liable to you for any such damage or loss that may arise in connection with or as a result of your use of the Learning Platform.

The content of the Platform, including the training courses and materials are owned by Girlguiding or third parties. You cannot copy, use or reproduce any content from the Learning Platform without our prior consent except where extracts are downloaded or printed for personal and non-commercial use.

3. How we will use your personal information

Your personal data contained on and which you upload to the Learning Platform will be used to administer your online learning records. Your personal data will be kept secure and won’t be used for other purposes. Girlguiding relies on “Legitimate Interests” as the legal basis to use and process this information.

We make sure to consider and balance the potential impact the processing may have on you and your rights under data protection law. You have certain rights that you can exercise over the use of your personal data including a right to object in certain circumstances. 4. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. Every time you wish to use the Learning Platform, please check these Terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time. We will take reasonable steps to notify you of any major changes, for example by placing a notice on the Learning Platform where possible.

These Terms were most recently updated on the date at the bottom of the page.

5. General

We may assign, transfer, replace or subcontract any or all of our rights and obligations under these Terms at any time. 
If any term of these Terms is illegal, invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining terms shall continue to be valid.

Failure or delay by either party to enforce an obligation or exercise a right under these Terms shall not be a waiver of that obligation or right.

These Terms do not confer any rights on any person or party (other than you and/or us) pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

These Terms and your use of the Learning Platform are governed by English law and you are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
