Statement about the violence happening in the UK

Girlguiding advocates for the safety of girls everywhere. The attack in Southport on 29 July 2024 was devastating, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.  

We condemn the racist and Islamophobic violence that is happening across the UK right now. This is abhorrent and has no place in our society.  

We stand in support and solidarity with those in Girlguiding and wider society who are Muslim, people of colour, refugees or migrants, and everyone affected by the violence.  

We've seen some heartening shows of unity, and we are proud to be part of strong communities that stand together against hate.
