Volunteer with Girlguiding as part of your DofE Award
Make difference to girls and young women whilst you complete your DofE
As part of your DofE volunteering, you can take on loads of different roles in Girlguiding.
Check out the ways of volunteering page for information on the different roles available.
If you can’t commit to volunteering once your DofE is finished, you can volunteer as young external volunteer. This means you can volunteer at a unit once a week as part of the volunteer team. You’ll need to be at least 14 years old.
Registering your interest will put you in touch with local leaders who can get you started.
Make sure you tell them you’re working on your DofE and what your goals are, so they can give you the chance to meet your goals.
Information for leaders
If you’ve got a young external volunteer at your unit, make sure you find out what their goals are as part of their DofE.
If they’re going to be volunteering longer-term, why not see if they want to become a young leader? This will mean they can work on things like the Young leader qualification, the Lead Away permit and Queen’s Guide award.
