Girlguiding supports Unicef to help make girls’ voices heard with U-Report pilot

28 September 2016

This week, Girlguiding is inviting its young members to sign up to U-Report, a global platform for young people to speak out on what matters to them

Over 2.5 million young people in 27 countries around the world are already using Unicef’s U-Report platform to make their voices count. Unicef UK is now piloting U-Report across the UK to help make young peoples’ voices heard on the issues that affect their lives.

As part of our ongoing work to empower girls to use their voices to create positive change, we’re proud to be working with Unicef on the pilot to make sure girls and young women hear about U-Report and can participate.

Young people over the age of 13 can sign up to be U-Reporters and will be sent weekly poll questions asking their views on a wide range of issues, which they can respond to on their phone or computer. Their answers will appear instantly on U-Report’s UK website, which collates and showcases the views of young people across the country. The answers and opinions they provide can then be used by decision-makers to bring about change.

Girlguiding will work with Unicef to create poll questions to help inform our advocacy to improve girls’ and all young people’s lives in the UK.

Share U-Report with young people aged 13 to 25!

They can sign up by messaging JOIN to U-Report UK on Facebook, or by following U-Report on Twitter @UReportUK
