Tops or tails
< 10 mins
Voting is the 'tops'
One choice is 'tops' the other 'tails' - let girls have their say.
- Name one option ‘tops’ and the other ‘tails’.
- Ask the girls to stand up and vote by putting their hands either on their heads (tops) or their hips (tails).
- Count the votes and announce the winning choice.
- Adapt it by making it a secret vote. Ask everyone to close their eyes so girls will be less influenced by their friends.
An alternative is to ask girls to clap or stamp when you read out their favourite idea. The idea with the loudest response wins.
Decision-making can sometimes result in disagreements. Learn more about managing challenges from girls with our Guiding Conversation on behaviour.
