Conquer the half pipe
And do nail flips, ollies and other tricks - or just do your best to stay on board!
Skating involves using wheeled boots or boards to perform tricks or just travel round a rink or course.
To take girls skating you will need to find a reputable local venue.
Make sure you have sufficient adults who can skate confidently in case any girls are struggling. Always have at least one adult supervising who is not participating.
None required for public skating sessions.
For private sessions, venues may supply professional instructors.
Before the session starts, ensure that all girls are clearly briefed on:
- the venue rules
- where to meet in the event of an evacuation.
At the rink/course, check that the skates are:
- the right size for the user
- in good condition.
New or nervous skaters should keep to the edges of the rink/course so they can use the barrier for support.
