Make a garland to celebrate summer
Summer's here at last - mark its arrival by making lovely flower garlands.
- Cut out a number of flower shapes from bright paper (six on a piece of A4).
- Using a pencil, make holes in the middle of the flowers for thread to go through.
- Chop coloured drinking straws into 2cm pieces, and then thread flowers and pieces of straw alternately on a 60cm length of elastic thread.
- Tie the thread ends together tightly when nearly full.
With arts and crafts activities, watch girls at all times to make sure they are using scissors, glue and other items safely.
