North East England

Join a virtual celebration at 6pm on 22 February. The event will start with a message from Linda, North West England’s chief commissioner. There will be a mass Promise renewal ceremony, lots of fun and a badge. This event is free. Book tickets.

North West England

North West England are holding a virtual mass Promise ceremony at 8.22pm on 22 February. The event starts at 7.30pm with a welcome from the region chief commissioner team and ends at 8.30pm, with some fun in between. This event is free. Book tickets.


The Midlands region is launching a new social action project to celebrate World Thinking Day. Over the next year, members are encouraged to support their local food banks and money raised from badge sales will be donated to the food bank charity Trussell Trust.


This World Thinking Day, LaSER are encouraging units to hold an international or environmental-themed evening. Find out more on their website.

South West England

A World Thinking Day 2022 virtual weekend planned of activities around the theme ‘eat your way around the world’, travelling across the 5 WAGGGS regions. There will be virtual campfires, lots of fun and promise renewals too.


Girlguiding Cymru are sending a World Thinking Day e-postcard to members via email and the Girlguiding Cymru international team will launch a new page on the Cymru website, complete with international-themed resources.

They will also be featuring a World Thinking Day 2022 colouring sheet that members can download and sharing the WAGGGS’ resources pack on our social media channels in the run up to the day. They’re asking members to send photos of their units doing them. If you take photos, make sure that everyone pictured has the correct permissions.


Girlguiding Scotland is launching a chief commissioner’s challenge on World Thinking Day that will last until the end of the current chief commissioner’s term in six months’ time. There will also be a badge. Take part in the challenge.

British Girlguiding Overseas (BGO)

BGO units are encouraged to pair up for World Thinking Day. Play games, have conversations, do activities and make new friends.

Events at Activity Centres

Four of our Activity Centres are holding events for World Thinking Day.


On 20 February from 10am to 4pm, become a planet protector by completing the WAGGGS’ World Thinking Day resource, tour the house and have a go at an adventurous activity. This event is for all members, costs £22 per person and refreshments are provided. Book tickets.


On 19 February from 10am to 4pm, take part in environmental challenges tour the house and have a go at adventurous activities. This event is for all members, costs £22 per person and refreshments are provided. Book tickets.


On 19 February, from either 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers can have a go at the environmental activities in the WAGGGS' resource. Refreshments are provided and tickets cost £9 per member. Book your unit's place.

Waddow Hall

All sections can have a go at WAGGGS' activities, take part in nightline and bushcraft and tour the house on 19 February, from 10am to 4pm. This event costs £22 per member and refreshments are provided. Book tickets.
