Do you have experience in organising trainings and a passion for developing skills in others? If so, there is an exciting opportunity for you to support WAGGGS to deliver the Academy 2019.

When: 2 to 7 November 2019

Where: Bled, Slovenia

How much: Reasonable travel and accomodation expenses will be covered by WAGGGS

What will I do? 

The Academy is a unique training and networking event for those in WAGGGS and WOSM’s Europe regions. WAGGGS are looking for someone to join their team and support them to develop the programme for the Academy. You'll make that the sessions planned meet the needs of participants as well as WAGGGS. And you'll help complete a thorough evaluation of the event.

How much time will I need to give?

You’ll need to attend a planning meeting in Slovenia from 7 to 9 June 2019, as well as attend the full event from 2 to 7 November 2019. 

You’ll also be expected to do long distance work and video calls to prepare the Academy programme.

Who can apply?

To apply for this opportunity you will need to be: 

  • An active member of Girlguiding
  • Aged 18 or over

WAGGGS Europe Region are looking for people who have:

  • Previous experience of the Academy
  • Great communication skills
  • An ability to think strategically
  • A commitment to the values of the WAGGGS Europe Region

  3. Write a short statement of interest and your previous experience. Send it to [email protected] by 9am Monday 25 March. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to accept any applications after this date as we need time to consider and process the applications before the WAGGGS deadline of 29 March 2019
  4. We will then check through your application to check that you meet all the requirements and ask your local commissioner for a reference. We may get in touch with you if we have any questions.
  5. If you are successful we will let you know and send your application  along with the international commissioner approval  to WAGGGS before the 29 March deadline.
