Could you be a GOLD pathway adviser?

Encourage and support members who have been part of GOLD. Deadline midday, 8 December

We're recruiting four pathway advisers as specialist volunteers to support our new GOLD pathways.

They'll advise on training and/or Peer Education, taking girls abroad, leading and managing people and promoting international guiding in the UK.

About these roles

GOLD (Girlguiding Overseas Linked with Development) enables young women to develop their potential and make a difference in the world. As part of these roles you will:

  • Motivate and give guidance to young women on your pathway by signposting to training and answering queries.
  • Provide support at events.
  • Go to regular meetings and events, including two GOLD debrief events in the autumn.
  • Work with country and region advisers and lead volunteers.

Some responsibilities will be specific to the volunteer's pathway.

Find out more about what you'll be doing in the role description.

Why should you apply?

GOLD turns 30 in 2021 and has helped more than 900 young women adventures of a lifetime. This is a chance to be a part of a team that supports GOLD participants after they finish their programme. You'll help them to use their new skills to develop their skills and Girlguiding in the UK. You'll learn lots of new skills, in everything from coaching to leadership.

Who can apply?

Members over the age of 18 can apply for the roles. Applicants should have an interest in, or experience of, international guiding and we want people who are keen to become experts in their pathways.

Time commitment

The role appointment is for three years, starting in January. You'll meet with core GOLD team quarterly and have occasional meetings with members on their GOLD pathways.
