Become chair of the board of trustees for Girlguiding

Applications close 12 January 2024

We’re looking for a chair of our board of trustees.

Our current chair, Catherine Irwin, will reach the end of her term in May 2024. So we’re looking for someone to take on this vital role, as we continue to shape our ambitions as an organisation for the next 5 years.

The chair leads the board of trustees. Collectively, the board of trustees is responsible for making sure that Girlguiding is run well, is financially sustainable, and that we achieve our mission and purpose. Under the chair's leadership, the board sets the strategic direction for Girlguiding, working within our charitable objectives.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced and inclusive leader who’s committed to helping us achieve our vision. You’ll have the skills to lead the board and drive us forward as an organisation.

We’re very open to where your professional skills and experience lie but you’ll need to bring board experience. You'll have the ability to navigate difficult situations, balance diverse perspectives and be collaborative. The way you bring your influence and leadership will be more important than your subject knowledge in this role.

We want to increase the diversity of background and thinking on our board. We’re committed to creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive space, both for our staff and our members’ communities.
