We’re looking for an assistant international commissioner to join the international team. Girlguiding’s international team supports girls and volunteers have life-changing international experiences, both in the UK and all over the world.

What will I do?

As the assistant international commissioner you’ll play a key role in supporting the other members of the international team as well as the country/ region international advisers.  You’ll also work with other staff and volunteers across Girlguiding to promote and support WAGGGS events.

Who can apply?

To apply for this opportunity you will need to be:

  • An active member of Girlguiding
  • Aged 18 or over

We’re looing for people who have:

  • Lots of international experience, both within and outside of Girlguiding
  • A good understanding of international guiding and WAGGGS
  • An interest and openness to other countries, people and cultures
  • Great teamworking skills

How much time will I need to give?

The role will be for one year, throughout that year we will ask you to attend several weekend meetings as well as evening skype calls.  From this, there will also be long-distance work required. We believe the role will require an average commitment of approximately four to six hours a week.

It’s no small commitment – but being a part of the international team is incredibly rewarding, and the role will have a real impact on your skills and experience in communication, supporting a team and project management.
