Become the specialist volunteer for youth leadership

Apply by 9am on 20 November

We're looking for a specialist volunteer to advise on and support the delivery of the youth leadership offer for Girlguiding.

What's the role?

You’ll work alongside staff and other volunteers on the youth leadership plan, bringing leadership opportunities to Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers. Whether that’s a Sixer stepping forward and leading her six for the first time, or an experienced young leader looking to grow her skills, you can help the organisation create confidence-building and empowering opportunities.

Here’s some of what you'll explore in the role:

  • Leadership in a Rainbow setting (eg Rainbow buddies).
  • New resources for Sixers and seconds.
  • A new offer for patrol leads and seconds, Rainbow helpers and Brownie helpers.
  • Further support for the Ranger-age offer, including young leaders, young external volunteers and other potential offers.
  • Developing resources, training and guidance for adult volunteers working alongside these volunteers.

Check the role description for more information.

Who can apply?

This role is open to any adult volunteer who’s keen to support youth leadership in Girlguiding.

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate most of the experience, knowledge and skills outlines in the role description, but you don’t have to have everything now.

Check the role description for more details.

How long does the role last?

The role will be for 2 years, with a possible extension for 1 year.

How do I apply?

Fill out the application form (Word, 305KB) and email it to [email protected] with the subject line ‘Application for specialist volunteer for youth leadership’. Send your completed form by 9am on 20 November.

Voice or video recorded applications will also be accepted for anyone who finds that preferable to Word documents.

Interview times listed in the application form could change as we’d like to have girls on the interview panel and need to be flexible around their availability.

Want to know more?

Contact [email protected] and young volunteer lead, Naomi, will be happy to have an informal conversation.
