We’ve brought some of our programme activities to life for you to try at home. You can use these videos in your unit meetings or explore them with friends and family. New videos added each month!

If you’re a Ranger and working towards your programme awards, you can use these activities towards theme award hours.

Just make a note of the activity name and your unit leader can record them for you.

You’re welcome to have a go at any of the how to activities, but only activities from your section can count towards your theme award hours.

What you need:

Think straight

Create your own spirit level using a bottle and water. Put it to the test and see if you can use it to measure a straight line.

What you need:

  • Plastic bottle
  • Food coluring
  • Water
  • Sticky notes

Ups and downs

Toy trends are changing all the time. Some toys fizzle out and are forgotten, but some have lasted centuries. Have a go at making the ever-popular yo-yo.

What you need:

  • 2 bottle lids (the same size)
  • Thread or string (measuring from shoulders to the floor)
  • A metal nut
  • Super glue

Jianzi
