We’ve brought some of our programme activities to life for you to try at home. You can use these videos in your unit meetings or explore them with friends and family. New videos added each month!
If you’re a Guide and working towards your programme awards, you can use these activities towards theme award hours. Just make a note of the activity name and your unit leader can record them for you.
You’re welcome to have a go at any of the how to activities, but only activities from your section can count towards your theme award hours.

Wild wax
Have you ever designed your own candle? Find out how to using a variety of natural items to turn a plain candle into a bespoke home accessory.
What you need:
- Natural items you have collected
- A plain pillar candle
- White tissue paper – or the same colour as the candle
- Scissors
- Wax crayons
- Baking paper
- Hair dryer
- Newspaper to cover surfaces
