Canoeing and kayaking training
Take to the water and teach girls to canoe or kayak
Learn to run canoeing or kayaking sessions with your girls
Canoeing and kayaking are exciting ways for girls to challenge themselves and have fun on the water. And through British Canoing (BCU) courses, you can instruct and supervise Girlguiding members yourself!
The British Canoeing Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport
Complete a British Canoeing Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport (UKCC) level 1 or 2 - level 1 will qualify you to coach as an assistant and level 2 will qualify you to lead coaching.
The certificate covers how to coach - things like planning activities, evaluation and safety - as well as what to coach, such as basic paddlesport skills, lifting and carrying, launching and landing, and preventing a capsize.
Find out more about these courses on the British Canoeing website, which also lists training providers.
