Programme Renewal Volunteer Team
Meet the team of talented volunteers whose time and skills are helping make our new programme as exciting as possible
We've been hard at work on developing our new programme and the huge task of creating hundreds of new activities plus new badges, books and awards is now well under way.
All through this process, we've been working with our members. Thousands of girls and Leaders have been consulted, have tested activities and collaborated on new ideas.
We’ve had members taking part since the very start of the project, thanks to our Task and Finish Group, and our Lead Volunteer, Jess Bond, has input at every stage. But we wanted you to be even more involved, so we have recruited a team of specialist volunteers - with skills in everything from digital to learning and development - to make sure every element of the new programme works for girls and for volunteers.
Meet our Specialist Volunteers
I have been involved in guiding for nearly 20 years, since joining as a 10-year-old Guide and am now delighted to be the Lead Volunteer for Programme Renewal.
I’m excited to be working with a great team of volunteers and staff to refresh and renew our programme to deliver fun, challenging and inspiring activities to thousands of girls and young women. As a Girlguiding Trainer, I'm also keen to make sure we provide the right tools and support to all our amazing volunteers too!
I've been in guiding since I was a Brownie - it's definitely a part of who I am! As an adult, I've held a number of different roles but my favourites are what I do now; being a Senior Section Leader and a Trainer. I'm very passionate about guiding and I love having the chance to share this with my unit as well as in my trainings.
I've been involved in the Programme Renewal since the initial consultations and through the Task and Finish Group so I am delighted to be able to continue my involvement through this role and combine it with my passion for training.
I joined Brownies at 7 and have never really left. I am currently a Trainer and a Tutor and the Trainer Coordinator for Scotland. I have also been a Brownie Leader and District commissioner and have held various other roles at County/Country and National level.
As Specialist Volunteer working on the new programme, I hope to use all of my knowledge from these roles to help the team on this project to explore and develop a digital offering for all our members.
I'm currently a Guide leader, and previously been a Brownie Leader, District Commissioner, Guide Advisor and Guiding Development Advisor.
I am really excited to be involved in the programme renewal and want to use my skills as an IT Business Analyst to help the project team make sure the needs of the volunteers and young members are heard and met.
I joined Brownies when I was 6-years-old and I'm still here! Currently, I am a Guide leader and District Commissioner in Hertfordshire and I’ve held various roles at County level.
I’m really excited to be involved in the programme renewal as Specialist Volunteer for Programme Content and Awards as I see this as a once in a lifetime opportunity. I hope that I can utilise my 30 years of leadership experience to help guide the fantastic team working on the project to deliver a programme that will really challenge and reward our girls and young women and give them skills for life.
