Spread the word about your unit

Tell your local newspaper about the amazing activities you’re doing with your unit

Following on from the launch of the Girls’ Attitudes Survey we have created a press release template, which can be used over the next few months.

You can use this template to help you tell your local newspaper about the amazing activities you’re doing with your unit.

This year our Girls’ Attitudes Survey revealed how gender stereotypes are impacting on girls and young women in all areas of their lives. And we know that so many of the activities you do with your units are helping girls cope with these pressures and stand up to stereotypes, whether it’s sport, STEM, outdoor activities or practical skills.

It would be fantastic if more people knew about the incredible opportunities on offer to girls and the dedication of volunteers in putting on these activities. So use this press release template to spread the word.

We've bundled the press release template into a downloadable .zip file, which also contains some images from the Girls' Attitudes Survey that you can use on social media.

Adapt the press release template by filling in the details of the activities you’re doing and add in one or two quotes from the girls in your unit.
