Yorkshire Three Peaks weekend
Trek Yorkshire’s tallest mountains in this iconic yet challenging weekend
A 24 mile walk to climb Yorkshire’s three tallest mountains
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is an iconic trek that takes in Yorkshire’s three tallest mountains: Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen y Ghent.
Shaped by glaciers many thousands of years ago, there are plenty of geological landmarks to peak your interest as you walk - from striking limestone outcrops to unusual rock formations. This is an extremely tough, but enormously rewarding, event spanning 24 miles over hilly landscapes.

About the walk
You’ll meet at a campsite near Chapel-le-Dale, nestled between two of the three peaks before heading out through the broad green dales the next morning.
Ingleborough will be the first mountain to rise before you – shaped like stairs due to its alternating layers of limestone at 723m. While Whernside, your second peak, dominates the landscape behind us at 736m.
After a second night at camp, we will tackle Pen y Ghent. At the 694m summit, we will enjoy views across yesterday’s achievements before heading home.
