This is a really exciting time to join Girlguiding. We have much to be proud of in our one hundred years of history, but we know that to remain vibrant and relevant to young people we must continually evolve.

We have begun a process of significant change: transforming the organisation so it can meet the challenges of the future by putting young people at the heart of our organisation. We are on a mission to amplify the voices of girls and young women, so they can champion change in their own lives and the wider world; to build strong partnerships that can increase our reach and impact; and to increase the support we offer our amazing adult volunteers who deliver incredible experiences to young people across the UK every week.

Situated in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest, Foxlease Activity Centre provides a unique & exciting venue for customers to enjoy in a variety of ways. The estate hosts everything from campsites to bunkhouses, outdoor activities to events, and includes a Georgian Manor House complete with conference rooms, ensuite bedrooms and an onsite bar.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Head Cook to manage our onsite kitchen and take responsibility for our catering provision. Working within a small team, you will be preparing and producing nutritional, but tasty meals for our youth client base, leisure guests and families, or even creating a tasty menu for an independent function. You will be responsible for allergen control and managing your given areas in the most cost-effective way whilst maintaining a safe and effective operation alongside the Deputy Centre Manager, in terms of food hygiene standards and compliance with current HSE legislation.

We are looking for a dedicated candidate who can successfully lead and motivate others. Typical working hours are 7am-3 or 1pm-9, 5 days over 7, and you will oversee the dining room and service of all meals to ensure excellent levels of customer service are delivered and guest expectations are exceeded.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to progress toward taking charge of their own catering operation, or for those with previous experience in the role who are perhaps for those looking to wind down their responsibility and simply work in a fun and dynamic environment.

Girlguiding values the differences that a diverse workforce brings and is committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. Girlguiding is proud to be part of the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme, a member of the Business Disability Forum, and a member of Time to Change – improving attitudes towards mental health. We are committed to supporting our staff to achieve a good work-life balance and offer flexible working options wherever we reasonably can. Girlguiding is a COVID secure employer, offering hybrid working and providing support for all employees during the current pandemic. All staff are required to carry out our online health and safety training and complete a DSE risk assessment to ensure we can provide the support you require.
