So you've been to an Innovate, seen the Planning Team in action and thought 'I could do that' but then time passed, you lost the application form and thought you'd missed out.
Well now you really can put your thoughts into reality as the page contains all the information you need to apply for the Innovate Planning Team!

If you've missed it - don't worry as you can still send in your form, but it will not be considered until after the next event when Planning Team places become vacant.

Role Description
A term on the Innovate Planning Team will last around two years (depending on timings of the Innovates in this period). During this time you will plan two separate Innovate events if they occur before you turn 26. Every member of the planning team takes on a different role for the duration of each event they plan. Everyone has the opportunity to choose which role they would like to take on at the first planning meeting. These roles can include:
- Venue and Finance Coordinator
- PR Coordinator
- Administration
- Fringe Coordinator
- Entertainment Coordinators
- Why Dont You Coordinators.
Many roles have two Planning Team members working on them theres lots of support! The roles may change depending on the team structure.
Once in your role you are expected to liaise with the Chair and Vice Chair (who are always happy to help) to organise your part of the Innovate event. At Innovate you will facilitate an Association Workshop on an issue that affects Girlguiding UK. Facilitation training and support will be provided.
Planning Team Commitments
As a member of the Planning Team, by accepting your position, you agree to commit to a minimum of:
- Four weekend meetings per year (held at different locations around the country).
- Attending Innovate events planned by the other Planning Team members.
- Regular phone conferences throughout your position (usually monthly).
- To facilitate an Association workshop at Innovate.
- To communicate with the team on a regular basis.
- To inform the Chair and Vice Chair of periods of time when you may not be available to contribute to Innovate work.
Personal Expectations
- To positively promote Innovate wherever possible at any level.
- To meet deadlines wherever possible.
- Where it is not possible to meet deadlines, to be honest and ask for help.
- To let the Chair and Commonwealth Headquarters (CHQ) staff member know as soon as possible whether you can or cannot attend a meeting.
- To contribute honestly and openly within team meetings.
- To listen and respect each others views.
Eligibility
- You must have attended at least one Innovate event.
- You must be able to plan and deliver at least one event before your 26th birthday (one event will require approximately 12 months to plan).
