Are you – or do you know anyone – 18-25 years old?

If so, you or they may be eligible for a free government-funded, life-changing experience in a developing country such as Ghana, South Africa, India or Peru. This is a fantastic one-off opportunity aimed at those who would not otherwise be able to afford a gap year experience.

Typical projects include constructing community buildings, caring for and teaching children, building infrastructure at eco centres, and assisting in HIV clinics. The important thing is that they involve living among a local community, getting an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to that community and then coming back inspired to tell your story back in the UK.

When you return from your volunteering trip, you will be given a platform to creatively express your experience - through art, film, photography, blogging.  Whatever you're into, you can use it to tell people about your trip and what it's like to live in a developing country.
