Accessing the members' area & Go!
Please note: this page will answer your questions about
accessing the members' area and
Go!
I'm new to the website, what is the members' area?
The members' area is exclusive to active members of Girlguiding
UK. It contains information and resources that will support them in
their guiding role, and includes details of membership benefits
available exclusively to them. Having a members' area also means
confidential organisational information can be issued in a secure
area.
What is Go!?
Go! stands for Guiding Organiser system, accessible by all
authorised guiding users. Go! enables you to update your own
information and the information of those you are responsible
for. It is an administrative tool to help you run your Unit
and for Commissioners to help support their local Volunteers.
I'm registered in the old members' area but can't log on to the
new one. Why?
The members' area login has changed. Members accessing the
website for the first time since its redesign will notice that
their usual username and password are invalid on the new site. To
gain access to the area, you will need to re-register by following
the steps outlined below.
How do I access the members' area and Go!?
As long as you are an active member and your contact details are
correct on Go! you can request a password and log in.
1. Visit www.girlguiding.org.uk
2. Click on the 'Members' area & Go!' tab

3. Under the 'Log in!' tab click on 'need your password?’, just
under the ‘submit’ icon.

4. Enter your email address or registration number in the box
that appears, and click ‘submit’.
Once this has been submitted and validated against your details on
Go! a password will be sent to the email address you have specified
on Go! (this may take up to 15 minutes). Remember to keep your
password safe. It is important that you do not share it with
anyone.
5. Once you have your password enter your registration number,
shown on your membership card or available from your local
Commissioner, and date of birth – in the form dd-mmm-yyyy (e.g.
01-sep-2011). Remember to enter the password you receive,
including any capital letters or numbers.
Where can I get my membership number?
You can find your membership number on your Appointment Card or
ask your local Commissioner.
Help! I haven't got an email address. How do I set one
up?
Fear not, the process of setting up an email address is a quick,
easy and painless process. There are plenty of free email providers
to choose from, too. If you have Internet access at home, your
Internet provider may provide you with one of you can choose to
create an account with an internationally renowned email provider
such as Hotmail (www.hotmail.com) or Googlemail
(www.googlemail.com). To
get an email account with either of these providers all you need to
do is visit one of the web addresses above and click on 'sign up'
or 'create a new account'. Fill in some details about yourself,
press submit and voila - you're good to Go! (pun intended!).
My password hasn't arrived.
If you have not received your password please check your
spam/junk mail folder to see if the email containing your password
is there. You will not receive a password if you are using the
same email address as another member. Talk to your Commissioner if
you're having problems.
I have received my password but it doesn't work.
If you have received your password and are having difficulty
logging in you may find it easier to copy the password from right
to left from your notification email and paste it into the login
page. Please note the letters 'i', 'l' and 'k' in particular look
very similar as upper and lower case.
Can I change my password?
Yes. After logging in you will have the option to change your
password to something more memorable. Password changes can be
made by going to 'Update details' once you have logged
in. Please remember you must not share your passwords with
anyone.
Is Go! accessible via the new website?
Yes, click the Go! icon.
I'm still having problems logging in, what now?
