4x4

Welcome to an information-packed edition of 4x4, the first in our brand new format! Chair Kirsten Price kicks off this edition with her first-ever Chair’s Chat here.

4x4 is all about keeping people involved in the 4 initiative in4med about key events, sharing good practice and celebrating achievement. Do you have anything that you’d like to see in the next 4x4? Maybe you have dates for an upcoming training, or you’d like to share a session you’ve recently led or attended? Perhaps you would like to big up your supporter? Or maybe you’ve recently created a Queen’s Guide mini topic pack? If so we’d love to hear from you. Please send all articles to 4x4@girlguiding.org.uk.

We’d also love to hear what participants in your sessions thought about the session they took part in. Brownies could count what they write towards their Writer badge and Guides their Communication badge. Please ask them to send their articles to you to pass on, or to send them directly to us at 4x4@girlguiding.org.uk.

Basic and Advanced Trainings, November 2009

We’ve been a really busy team these past few months and in November, 4CaST ran two Basic Trainings and an Advanced Training.

The basic and advanced trainings held in parallel at CHQ provided a great opportunity for people at different stages of their 4 journey to meet each other and share knowledge, as well as all of the usual fun stuff!!

The CHQ Basic Training proved so popular that we decided to hold an ‘overspill’ event at Downe Activity Centre.

In4mer T-shirts

For those that have recently attended a Basic Training, or if you fancy a new one, the In4mer T-shirts are now available on the Guiding Essentials website www.girlguidingukshop.co.uk

Brownies Love 4!

Charlie, an Advanced Trained In4mer, ran a great session with her Brownies recently. Read about what how much one of the Brownies enjoyed her session here.

Becoming an Advanced Trained In4mer will develop your skills as an In4mer AND enable you to run a Basic Training! If you are interested in attending an Advanced Training, read the ‘Dates 4 your Diary’ section of this newsletter and/or email 4CaST@girlguiding.org.uk for an application form.

4 Goes Global

In the summer of 2009 NEE In4mers went to the island of Montserrat, where there is as Girlguiding UK Branch Association. Find out what they got up to here.

Disability Ambassador Training

While most people were attending Hallowe’en parties, a group of In4mers gathered in Birmingham to work together and support guiding to become more inclusive! Read about the event here.
