How will you change the world?

Girlguiding UK has partnered 18 partner charities and our guiding friends in Girlguiding UK's Branch Associations to develop 19 unique and exciting ways for you to take action in your local community. All of these projects raise awareness of an issue and then enable you to either take direct action by getting your hands dirty and doing something yourself, or by giving you ideas on how to make measurable amounts of money for specific projects.

Most importantly the projects are all fun and different so they give you the opportunity to try new things while making a positive impact on the world.

You can take part in any of the projects although some are more suitable for Senior Section members including:

  • adopting your local Save the Children charity shop

  • running your own HIV/AIDS awareness campaign for UNICEF

  • or starting up your business with the Barnardo's BIS.

Whichever project you choose there is a ready made activity pack to tell you exactly how to take part and what to do.
While taking part in these activities, remember that they can count towards your Senior Section Awards and Qualifications for example:

The above are just examples of where your Changing the World activities can count, remember that all of the projects can count in a similar way. Also, bear in mind that the Senior Section programme is flexible and designed to be an individual programme. Each activity is designed to be a challenge to the individual, and what is a challenge for one member will not be for another.
