just needs to be delivered,
and we are currently looking
for members to help us do
it.
Role summary
The volunteers will lead the delivery of a specific strand of the Girlguiding UK Youth Participation Strategy.
The successful applicants will be responsible for a small group of volunteers with specific work to do, so good organisation, communication skills and regular email access are essential.
Key responsibilities of the
volunteers
- To lead the delivery of a specific strand of work of the Youth Participation Strategy, and to manage the further development of the detailed plans contained within the implementation plan.
- To set up, manage and support Task and Finish Groups responsible for discrete projects/pieces of work from the specific strand.
- To deliver discrete pieces of work which do not require a Task and Finish Group.
- To attend meetings with the Lead Volunteer for Youth Participation and the other strand leads.
- To champion best practice in Youth Participation.
- To be in regular email contact with members of the strand, including Task and Finish Groups and the Lead Volunteer for Youth Participation.
Commitment
- A minimum of a year in the role with the opportunity to extend it.
- Attending meetings (dates to be decided with Lead Volunteer for Youth Participation, but no more than one per quarter).
- Attending Task and Finish Group meetings as appropriate.
- An ability to keep in regular contact with members of the strand. including Task and Finish Groups and the Lead Volunteer for Youth Participation.

Additional notes
- A full induction will be provided.
- Support will be provided by other volunteers and by a staff member based at CHQ.
- Expenses (travel and other incidental expenses) will be reimbursed.
The Youth Participation strand Lead Volunteers will be appointed by the Chair of Guiding Development on the recommendation of the Lead Volunteer for Youth Participation.
The strand leads will report to the Lead Volunteer for Youth Participation.
