Get a lesson in safe driving

Arrive Alive logoArrive Alive is the DSA's award-winning Road Safety Programme, dedicated to influencing young peoples attitudes towards learning to drive, the driving test and the longer term skill of safe driving for life.

The aims and objectives of the Driving Standard Agency's Arrive Alive Road Safety Programme are to prevent our young people becoming involved in road traffic crashes that all too often result in serious injury or even death. Of those new young drivers between the ages of 16-19 one in three will be involved in a road traffic incident.

The programme involves local Driving Examiners giving a 50 minute totally free presentation and they would like to visit your group. There are different modules which can be adjusted to suit your needs. The presentations are given in an informal style encouraging interaction and giving you the opportunity to relate to the Examiners in a relaxed manner. It could even count towards your Look Wider programme.

The main topics of this free presentation are:

  • Getting started
  • The Theory and Practical Tests
  • Pass Plus Scheme
  • The New Drivers Act
  • Gaining Experience
  • Attitude
  • Speed Kills
  • Are you fit?

If you would like to book a presentation for your Senior Section group please talk to your Leader and ask her to fill out the booking form and send by email to arrive.alive@dsa.gsi.gov.uk or fax to 0191 201 4015.
