Tie Dyeing

You will need

• Pot of dye (hot water dye is the best as it will not run)
• A cotton t-shirt
• A washing up bowl
• A metal spoon
• Rubber bands
• A pair of tongs

Take your t-shirt and gather a small amount of the material, tie a rubber band around it (the tighter the rubber band is tied the more detail you will see once dry).

Do this all over the t-shirt so the circles will appear everywhere you want.

Boil some water, once the water has boiled carefully pour into your washing up bowl. Tip in the dye and stir

Add your t-shirt and make sure it is fully covered by the dye. Leave for 30 minutes stirring occasionally.

Once the 30 minutes is up remove your t-shirt from the bowl using your tongs then run under cold water to make sure all the extra dye runs out. Then hang your t-shirt to dry leaving the rubber bands on

Once your t-shirt is dry remove the rubber bands. Your t-shirt is now ready to wear.
